Assignment #7 English Song

Selena Gomez & The Scene - Hit The Lights

It's the boy you never told I like you
It's the girl you let get away
It's the one you saw that day on the train
But you freeked out and walked away
It's the plane you wanna catch to Vegas
Things you swear you'll do before you die
It's the city of love that waits for you
But you're too damn scared to fly

Hit the lights let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight come alive
Let the moment take you lose control tonight
Hit the lights let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight come alive
Let the moment take you lose control tonight

It's the time that you totally screwed up
Still you're trying get it out your brain
It's the fight you had when you didn't make up
It's the past that you're dying to change
It's all the money the you're saving
While the good life passes by
It's all the dreams that never came true
'cause you're too damn scared to try

Hit the lights let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight come alive
Let the moment take you lose control tonight
Hit the lights let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight come alive
Let the moment take you lose control tonight

It's a mad mad world gotta make an escape
It's a perfect world when you go all the way
Hit the lights let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight

So let's go go go go
All the way yeah let's go go go
Night and day from the floor to the rafters
People raise your glasses
We could dance forever

Hit the lights let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight come alive
Let the moment take you lose control tonight
It's a mad mad world gotta make an escape
It's a perfect world when you go all the way
Hit the lights let the music move you
Lose yourself tonight

My comment: This is one of my favorite English songs. One day I heard this song on the radio. I was attracted to the melody of the song. Then I serched this song on the Internet. I found the lyrics, and felt the lyrics touched me. The melody is inspiring. The lyrics says:
It's the time that you totally screwed up
Still you're trying get it out your brain
It's the fight you had when you didn't make up
It's the past that you're dying to change
It's all the money the you're saving
While the good life passes by
It's all the dreams that never came true
'cause you're too damn scared to try

Many people are afraid to try.  Didn't seize the opportunity, often miss the opportunity. We should bet it on one shot and be brave to any attempt. Don't hesitate. Like the lyrics said "hit the lights" light up your dream. Make ourselves dreams come true.

Assignment #6 Steve Jobs' Talk

Steve Jobs never graduated from college, but he has a huge achievement. He founded Apple, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees.

There was a speech that impressed me. “You've got to find what you love. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.” I am interested in accounting. I major in accounting at university. So I hope I can do the work about accounting in the future. After listening to Steve Jobs's speech, let me know I have to find what I love. I think love what you do and do the things you love.

I think ESL Randall's Cyber Listening Lab is a useful tool for learning English listening. It takes me a little time to improve my English listening.
